Manager, Claims and Supplier Quality

Responsible for direct management of claims as related to installations, pricing and materials, vendor returns, stock rotations, and drop shipments.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a liaison between customers, inter-departments, vendors, and subcontracts to reach a favorable resolution of all respective claims
  • Maintains adequate documentation and reporting on all respective claims handled
  • Performs root cause analysis and executes mitigation plans to prevent reoccurring claims and excess material returns from job-sites
  • Mitigates and tracks company claim-related losses and seeks adequate reimbursements
  • Composes vendor scorecards and works with vendor relations to distribute
  • Ensures drop shipped materials arrive at respective job sites, providing accounts payable with respective documentation and approval for release of payment
  • Leads strategic stock rotation efforts, in collaboration with inventory control and vendor relations that effectively minimize phantom and surplus materials on-hand
  • Reviews and approves material returns from job sites and coordinates with inventory control and warehousing team to action
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly KPIs and other reports for management review
  • Maintains adequate documentation procedures and workflows as related to claims and supplier quality
  • Ensures direct reports are complying with Supply Chain defined processes and procedures
  • Makes adequate recommendations that optimize inventory levels
  • Serves as a backup to respective Supply Chain Colleagues
  • Provides additional support to executive management as requested
Qualifications:

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Claims, or Supplier Quality
  • Experience working in project-based business or commercial construction
  • APICS, ISM, and Six Sigma Certification a plus

Skills

  • Strong negotiation skills, must have the capability to manage stock rotation programs and vendor return policies
  • Substantial time and project management skills
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors and colleagues
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Visio, Etc.
  • Experienced in MS PowerBi or equivalent, a plus
  • Must be engaging and proactive, with a strong sense of urgency
